May 9: OPENING DAY of our 2020 Spring Season. Ceremonies begin at 9:00 AM. First game of the season at 9:30 AM. The girls softball team from SE Polk High School will again serve as our buddies for the first two games. Come and join in the fun!
June ?: Joint ML games with Ankenky and Urbandale. Urbandale will host so we will be the “away” team. Great chance to play on another Miracle League field here in the metro! Stay tuned.
2019 SPECIAL EVENTS
October 18: We hosted our FOURTH Annual Halloween Party. Weather was decent with over 300 attending in costume, ready for games and treats. Thanks to the Polk County Attorney’s office for again coordinating games and fun! We also had trophy pickup for those unable to attend the All Day Trophy Party on October 18. October 12: SOMETHING NEW! We celebrated the 2019 seasons by having an ALL DAY TROPHY PIZZA PARTY. We played our scheduled games all day. Following the games, we introduced all the players at that game, handed out trophies, took team pictures, and then enjoyed pizza and all the trimmings. It was cold…but fun!
September 20: Thanks to the Knights of Columbus for sponsoring a golf tourney in our honor. Join us at Blank Golf Course for a fun day. September 17: It was our annual ALL STAR NIGHT with the Des Moines Police and Fire Departments as our buddies. Two games. LOTS of police and fire personnel were on hand to be our buddies. What a fun evening!
September 16: Our good friends from Vision Financial Group again sponsored a golf tournament at Terrace Hill Golf Course, Altoona, to benefit all three Miracle Leagues in the Des Moines metro area–Ankeny, Urbandale, and us! $125/player that includes 18 holes, lunch, prizes, cart, and lots of fun! The weather cooperated and ALL had a good time raising awareness of the value of Miracle League play in the metro area.
September 13: The Knight of Columbus hosted its inaugural a golf tourney to benefit the Kiwanis Miracle League. Mother Nature cooperated and all had a great time. Thanks, Knights!
September 6-8: FOUR player families and FOUR board members represented the Kiwanis Miracle League at the MIRACLE LEAGUE ASSOCIATION’S Annual ALL STAR GAMES in Sioux City. They got to meet and play with ML players from all over the U.S. AND Mexico! All created many lasting memories. 2020 will be in November in Houston.
June 17: We hosted the Ankeny Miracle League players AND welcomed our Urbandale Miracle League friends with TWO All Star games at 6 (Urbandale) and 7 PM (Ankeny). Our new friends from AmeriGroup Iowa were our buddies. AND we hosted foreign visitors from Africa and Haiti via the Iowa International Center and the US Department of State.
June 29: Dairy Queen Day! Thanks once again to the Polk County Dairy Queen Association for providing Dilly Bars to our players and volunteers.
Also June 29: Kiwanis MIracle League NIght at The Iowa Barnstormer PLAY OFF Game! 7:00 PM kick off.
Wednesday, June 12: It’s time for The Iowa Barnstormers–one of our most popular events of the season. We had held two special All-Star Games at 6 & 7 PM with over 20 Barnstormers being our buddies. Fun for all!
May 11: OPENING DAY of our 2019 Spring Season. Ceremonies began at 8:30 AM. First game of the season was at 9 AM. The girls softball team from SE Polk High School again served as our buddies for the first two games, and provided great fun with an exhibition game with the Shrine Clowns.

Saturday, October 13: Our end-of-the season Trophy/Pizza Party. Great new video, lots of good pizza, commemorative plaques for our coaches, and trophies for all players.
Tuesday, October 9: Our third annual Halloween Party was LOTS of fun. Thanks to the Polk County Attorney’s Office staff for helping us with the games. President Jan served yummy hotdogs, with merchandise manager Robin pouring drinks for all. Some great costumes, too!

Saturday, July 14: DAIRY QUEEN DAY! Journey of Hope cyclists will be our buddies at the 3 & 4 PM games.
Saturday, July 7: Because we cancelled afternoon games on June 30, our photographer will be here again to take team and individual pictures.
Monday, June 18: Vision Financial Group Golf Tournament. Beneficiaries are the three area Miracle Leagues. Thank you, Vision Financial for your donation from proceeds of $3,401!
Monday, May 25: We travel to Ankeny Miracle Park for two games, 6 & 7 PM. CANCELLED due to rain and storms.

Saturday, May 26: Opening day of our 2018 season. Plan to attend opening ceremonies as we dedicate our new playing surface, thanks to some VERY generous donors. First of eight games at 9:30 AM. It’s also Memorial Day weekend–ask grandma and grandpa to your game!
Tuesday, June 12, 6 & 7 PM: All-Star BARNSTORMER Night at the KML. Saturday, June 16, 7:05 PM: Miracle League Night at The Iowa Barnstormers. Last home game of the 2018 season. Special price on tickets. Go down on the playing field after the game to meet the players and take pictures!
Saturday, June 16, FAMILY NIGHT at The Iowa Barnstormers: Always a fun event, Game time 7 PM. Tickets just $10 per person. Go down to the playing field after the game to get your picture with your fav players! Watch here for link to buy online. Tickets also available at our player check-in tent.

SPECIAL EVENTS 2017 FALL SEASON
October 14 was our end-of-the-season trophy/pizza party at Lutheran Church of Hope. Nearly 500 joined us for pizza and all the trimmings. Our coaches handed out all the trophies. Not able to attend? Contact your coach to pick up your trophy.
Thursday, September 7, the Des Moines Police & Fire Departments served as our buddies for our ALL STAR NIGHT, You guess who had more fun–our players or the police & firefighters? ABC5, KCCI, Fox, and WHO all covered the event–and we were on all stations for 9 and 10 PM news!
Monday, September 18, we hosted the Ankeny Miracle League players. Two games at 6 and 7 PM. The girls softball team from SE Polk High School served as our buddies. And free pizza for all players and buddies! Yummy!
Saturday, September 30, we had WHO-radio broadcasting LIVE from 9-11 AM.

2017 SPRING SEASON SPECIAL EVENTS
The Iowa Barnstormers joined us for two games on May 18–6 and 7 PM.
May 20 was Armed Forces Recognition Saturday.
Our “away” game night at the Ankeny Miracle League was May 22. Two games at 6 and 7 PM.
June 24 was DAIRY QUEEN DAY!
July 12 was Central Iowa Sports World Series ceremonies at Valley HS Stadium. Participating players wore their KML uniforms and lead the parade of teams onto the field. All received really cool medals!
July 12 was ALL Star Night with the “Journey of Hope” cyclists. Two games, 6:30 and 7:30 PM.
August 26, our fall season began. Be sure to register, players!
