June 15: So far, so good–no rain. And it’s PICTURE DAY for both teams and individuals. Smile!
June 8: A near perfect weather day. Bright sun and lovely breeze all day.
June 1: Hoping for the best in what has been a very rainy May.
May 25: Mother Nature is trying to cooperate! Rain chances only 20% this morning…so we’re playing! Steer clear of downtown DM–not only the usual Farmers Market but also the CelebrAsian Festival which has both Grand and Locust blocked off around the Sculpture Garden.
MAY 18: We got all games in. We enjoyed showing our visitors from a soon-to-be-opened ML ball park around. The Kiwanis Miracle League at Prospect Meadows in Marion/Cedar Rapids opens later this summer.
MAY 11: WEATHER ALERT! Due to the early morning rain, we are delaying Opening Day ceremonies from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. If you are a Yankee or an A’s, your 9 AM game is cancelled…but come and play at the 10 AM game. All other games are as scheduled.
October 6: The weather is not very nice, but we are playing. Come on down! Avoid using Martin Luther King Parkway from the west. Road is closed at Fleur Drive due to ALS Walk.
October 1: Bad weather again–we are CANCELLING tonight’s annual Police & Fire games. UGH.
September 18: Bad weather today. ALL STAR Games scheduled for 6 & 7 PM with DM Police & Fire Departments are POSTPONED until Monday, October 1.
September 15: We have a full day of games to play. Join us! Wear your school colors–Hawkeye Black & Gold, ISU Cardinal & Gold, or UNI Purple & Gold.
September 13: We hosted Ankeny Miracle League players. What a fun time! Special thanks to SE Polk Girls Softball & Best Buddies Chapter for being our “angels in the outfield”. We even got to play “under the lights”.
September 8: Games all day. Great fun as spectators dressed in their favorite school colors–Hawkeye Black & Gold and Iowa State Cardinal & Gold.
September 1: 9 and 10 AM games are cancelled due to rain!

July 21: A beautiful day for baseball as we wrap up the spring/summer season.
JULY 14: It’s humid and sunny. But we’re playing and having a good time. And it’s Dilly Bar Day.
JULY 7: It’s a great day for baseball. Remember to avoid downtown due to Farmers Market and 80/35 Music Festival.
June 30: Cancelled our noon, 1, 2, 3, and 4 PM games due to the heat.
June 25: Postponed our “away” games with Ankeny Miracle League due to rain & storms. New date yet TBD.
June 23: NO GAMES! Follow same schedule for July 21.
June 16: Cancelled our noon, 1, 2, 3, and 4 PM games.
June 12: We had a great time with The Iowa Barnstormers! Our “All Star” players loved these special buddies. Great crowds, too!
June 9: The weather forecast wasn’t in our favor today, but we’re playing! No rain…but it is warm. All games are a GO!
June 2, 7:35 am: Our 9 and 10 AM games are cancelled today due to rain.
May 26: Our 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 & 4:30 games were CANCELLED due to heat.
May 26: It’s opening day. Ceremonies are complete. We cut the ribbon for our new playing surface. The Phillies and the Twins are now into the 10:30 game. BUT IT IS VERY WARM. If your game is scheduled for this afternoon, please consider coming to the ball park now to play as there is a strong possibility we will cancel some of the afternoon games. STAY TUNED
October 10, 9:30 AM: We’re postponing our Halloween Party to THURSDAY, 10/12, 6 PM. Shouldn’t be a big surprise! The weather is awful today. See you all Thursday night–wear your best Halloween costumes! Trick or treat for all and fun games, too. Concession stand will be open for your favorite ball park eats.
September 30: Couldn’t ask for nicer weather to play ball. WHO-radio is broadcasting live! Come on Down!
September 23: Many are calling as to whether we are playing or not. Yes, we are playing. The 9 AM game is in full swing. We have cold water and cold towels for the players in the dugouts. Might want to bring your umbrellas for shade in the stands.
September 18: We host the Ankeny Miracle League players at our ball park for 2 games–6 & 7 PM. The girls softball team from SE Polk HS will be our buddies. Must register with Joyce at email@example.com.
September 7: Annual DMPD & DMFD ALL STAR Night. Games at 6 & 7.

June 24: Last day of the spring season. Dairy Queen Day. Pictures delivered.
June 17: Hope to play games as scheduled throughout the day. Picture day, too.
June 10th: We cancelled our 1, 2, 3, and 4 PM games due to the heat forecast. Darn. Knowing that your player may still want to play, please bring them in the morning when it hopefully will be cooler. If you are scheduled for the 1 PM game, please come to the 9 AM game. If scheduled for the 2 PM game, please come to the 10 AM game, If scheduled for the 3 PM game, please come to the 11 AM game. If scheduled for the 4 PM game, your game is cancelled.
JUNE 3rd: It was a great day for baseball. Lots of sunshine, lots of players and lots of buddies. Some morning traffic snafus due to the Dam to Dam race, otherwise smooth sailing! We welcomed many buddy groups: Dallas Center-Grimes Key Club, the Iowa Barnstormer Storm Chasers & U of I Hawkeye dance team, North Mahaska Little League Heat team, Dowling Catholic HS soph boys baseball team, Wells Fargo Retail Services, Midwest Professional Staffing, Atlantic church youth group, the Central Iowa Stars, and, of course, our 2016 Buddy of the Year Cliff. Special from the concession stand–ice cream shakes in the afternoon! Very refreshing on a hot day!

Don’t forget that Saturday is another Downtown Des Moines Farmer’s Market day. Avoid 2nd/3rd and 5th Streets. This affects travel for the 9, 10, 11, and noon games. Use MLK Parkway.
Second Annual ALL STAR GAMES were May 22nd at Ankeny Miracle League ball park. Another fun event for a lot of special players.
Sorry we had to cancel our May 20th games and picture day. Mother Nature just didn’t want to cooperate! Pictures rescheduled for June 10.
What great fun with The Iowa Barnstormers at our May 18 All Star Game night! Some 60 players enjoyed two games with 30+ Barnstormers and coaches. Special thanks to PapaJohn’s Pizza–free pizza went to all players and Barnstormers!

Our 2016 season has officially started! And thanks to Vision Financial Group who presented us with a BIG check on the first day of Fall Season. We were one of the beneficiaries of the Group’s June golf tournament. THANKS to all the Vision folks!
