Our ninth full year of play has come and gone. Hardly seems possible that we have actually played 19 seasons!
We had 198 kids signed up to play ball on the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines Field in the 2010 spring season and 208 in the fall season. In 2009 we had 115 kids playing in the spring and 147 playing in the fall! The weather in the fall was glorious, and the kids had great fun. In 2013, we had nearly 250 kids playing in each season. Same with the 2014, 2015 and now 2016 seasons! The coaches have done an amazing job with their respective teams. And the buddy volunteers! Oh, my! Nearly 2,000 volunteered in each of our 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 seasons–schools, corporate groups, sports teams, and individuals–young and old alike! And the out of the park home runs continue!
With all these players and teams, our need for team sponsors is great! And now we have players registering for our twentieth season! Our goal continues to be that this experience is FUN for each child and is at NO cost to the child or family. This means that we need your support–we supply each player with a personalized uniform (shirt and cap), treat tickets after each game, and an end of the season awards party. Behind the scenes, we have insurance costs, maintenance, a concession stand, periodic improvements, and general upkeep to keep the entire site in tiptop shape. We need your support!
It’s never too early to be a Team Sponsor. Become a Team Sponsor for our 2018 Seasons for only $500. As a Team Sponsor, we will put your name on our web site, display a banner with your company/individual name/logo on the dugout (both Spring and Fall 2018 Seasons), and list you as a Team Sponsor on various brochures and publications. Complete the form below, and mail your check payable to Kiwanis Miracle League for $500 to our Miracle League office at 505 5th Avenue, Ste 302, Des Moines, IA 50309. Thanks to you, many kids will really get the chance to have fun and play baseball this summer on an organized team at no cost to them or their parents!
