Many thanks to ALL who helped spruce up the ball park on July 27–we had nearly 30 volunteers and accomplished a lot! Thanks also to Chris Green Construction whose heavy equipment dug the post holes for our new bicycle rack and created the bed along the front entrance fence for additional plantings. Both jobs would have been monumental if done by hand.
On August 3, several of us worked on perimeter landscaping and back of the building “clean up”. Our good friends at Quick Supply Company delivered mulch and border pavers and we purchased enough bushes to take care of the entrance landscaping project. But we ran into a bit of a snag–the ground is so terrible in that area that even pick axes weren’t a help in digging the holes for the plants! Thanks to Downtown member Amy Croll, her father had the right kind of equipment to dig the holes–in only 15 minutes!
On August 6, we had a GREAT crew of ten that planted bushes, laid paver borders, and mulched. Our front entrance is lookin’ good! THANKS to all who helped!
